Bento # 34 : Teriyaki never fails

  • In the lid: Crisp bread
  • Grapes and carrot bits
  • Teriyaki chicken with spinach noodles and veggies
  • Apple juice

Even though teriyaki never fails… sometimes my taking pictures does. Sorry for the lousy shot. It’s a dark & early morning shot which I’ve tried to fix w/Photoshop.

Bento # 33 : Mild curry lunch with extras

  • In the Hello Kitty container: Yogurt (no flavor, just naturel)
  • Grapes and mango bits
  • Boiled rice with vegetable stock
  • Curry chicken
  • Raisins
  • Apple juice box

I poured the yogurt over the fruit. I wish I hadn’t gotten up at 6. am to make this chicken and rice from scratch… I didn’t even have time to put on make-up. It’s always like that. :3

I must be doing something wrong, though. I’m hungry every day when I come home from school. Maybe I could pack more fiber-rich foods?

They’re keeping me busy in school. Got loads to do so I need my filling meals more than ever. However I don’t have the time to plan elaborate bentos. So be prepared for irregular posting and boring bentos. :(

Bento # 32 : Rice porridge & salad freshness

  • In the lid: Crisp bread
  • Danish rice porridge (a.k.a. risengrød) with sprinkles
  • Cucumber, grape and lettuce salad
  • Piggie bottle with mustard-based dressing
  • Butter in the “Fruit” spreader (for crisp bread)
  • Car shaped egg
  • Boiled ham on penguin skewer (for crisp bread)
  • In the Hello Kitty cup: Cinnamon sugar
  • Maja cocoa drink

Heh, I had to cut the corners off the crisp bread to make it fit. Delicious lunch, that was!

Bento # 31 : Aloo gobi aur mater

bento311.jpg

  • Cottage cheese with corn, peas and leek
  • Grapes on skewers
  • Raisins and chocolate nuts/raisins
  • Aloo gobi aur mater (Indian dish, cauliflower and potatoes with peas)
  • In the lid: Crisp bread
  • Multi-fruit juice
  • Not in picture: Elephant container with garam masala

Last night Martin made this great Indian dish from a recipe by Sumana Ray. She has written the cookbook “Det indiske vegetarkøkken” (“Indian Vegetarian Cooking“) with lots of mouth-watering pictures and exotic ideas for meals. It’s very simple and very Indian. Lots of the little snacky things look perfect for bento, although I have yet to try them.

Bento # 30: Bento-style Danish lunch

bento30.jpg

  • 3 dark rye bread slices
  • Butter in a Yasai spreader container
  • Underneath that: Wrapped Rice Krispie treats
  • Boiled ham slices on a bear skewer
  • Cottage cheese with peas and leek
  • Cucumber slices
  • Italian grapes

This is the first time I’ve made and tasted Rice Krispie treats. I love ‘em! I’ve the got marshmellows and Rice Krispies to make more. And I will… as soon as I’m not feeling about eating the first batch as fast as I did. :3

This lunch is my Japanese take on a typical Danish lunch. Danes always, always eat dark rye bread with different cold meat on. Open-faced sandwiches. Most often salami (Denmark’s the piggy/bacon capitol of the world), ham or “leverpostej” (which means liver paté). It’s kind of gross, I guess, but we’re all raised eating it.

By the way, I’ve finally gotten a decent shot of this pink Putifresh box so here you go:

Cute, huh? It’s not too wide but instead the boxes are a bit higher so I can fit some things better in there than my other boxes.

Bento # 29 : Butter fried fish

bento29.jpg

  • Fried fish, broccoli and tatoes with white parsley sauce
  • Grapes and cherry tomatoes on skewers
  • Mixed chocolate covered raisins/nuts and plain chocolate bits
  • Checkered apple
  • Lotsa raisins
  • Not in photo: Small chocolate milk

This is one of my new boxes! Yay! Here it is without the lid:

Cute, huh? I love it and I’m definitely going to use it a lot.

Bento # 28 : Sandwich & teriyaki

bento28.jpg

  • Yoggi Yangster raspberry/vanilla yogurt
  • Tuna, leek and cucumber sandwiches with mayo and lettuce
  • Cherry tomatoes on monkey skewer
  • Teriyaki chicken and noodles with broccoli and leek

Fridge-fresh and sadly pretty colorless. It was a nice bento though. Tasty! I’ve really come to LOVE teriyaki. Too bad I can’t find any mirin so I can make my own teriyaki sauce. Instead I have to buy the ready-made kind which is kinda pricey.

Bento # 27 : Flavor fest

bento27.jpg

  • Lasagna with cheese letters
  • Pistachios
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Kiwi bits
  • Apple juice

Yummy!

Bento # 26 : United colors of Bento

bento26.jpg

  • Lid: Thick crisp bread
  • Half a rum ball
  • Raisins
  • Shrimp cream cheese
  • Green apple slices
  • Nectarine slices
  • Pear slices
  • Multi fruit juice

Quite tasty but not filling at all. I ended up buying a crappy sandwich to compliment it. :(

Bento # 25 : Tasty!

bento25.jpg

  • Kiwi bits
  • Coriander and garlic naan bread
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Spinach noodles fried in chili powder
  • Pan fried spring rolls
  • Cracker
  • Ham cream cheese
